Turning our rolling Island into a grand rolling Island

The other night I got home late. I pulled into my driveway around midnight, opened my garage, and was stopped by this:

At first I had no idea what it was, something on it looked just a little bit familiar! Then it hit me. It was the scared and scratched top to my kitchen island!

Which we bought from a neighbor for $10 2 or 3 years ago. We hadn’t done anything other than clean it up since getting it from him but Joel tackling the top made me NEED to do something with the bottom! We couldn’t stain it cuz it was not real wood. So I did this:

I know, looks aweful right? But wait for it…

And then a little distressing and the top…

And the top that started it all…

The top blows me away! The rest is pretty nifty too but the top was done by a perfectionist and I did the rest! Sigh, what can I say…=)
